Review- The Body Shop, Madagascan Vanilla Flower ( Eau De Toilette, Body Lotion)

Hey Beauties, I thought to give you a short review on a "Gift Set" from one of my favourite brand "The Body Shop", I got it as a gift last days. ;)

I would like to share one of my favourite quote with you before getting ahead; " A woman's perfume tells more about her than her handwriting. ” - Christian Dior.
Yes, yes, You all guessed it write, I'm going to review my favourite scent today, talking about "Madagascan Vanilla Flower (EAU DE TOILETTE)" and "Madagascan Vanilla Flower (BODY LOTION)".I am a big big fan of good fragrances and always in search of that could touch my heart & soothes my soul.
And this gift came in a beautiful packaging of yellow/gold box or I better say a book that not only got a perfect cover but also the story inside is way capturing. ;)

Madagascan Vanilla Flower Scent inspired by a sunny day on the tropical island of Madasgar, I think that's the reason they give it this name, this warm, sensual, and delicious scent, I'm using these days, I do not like very sharp scents, always prefer something floral, flavoured and this scent is my best match this summer as no one wants to smell sharp scents in this hot weather of karachi. This has got some vanilla touch and when I use it I think whether to smell it or eat it, that's too delicious seriously and attracts others much . :D If you want to create your own fragrance, you can even blend two scents from their collection to build your own ( that's mentioned on their website) though I have never ever tried, I prefer to have it as it is. It came in 50 ml in a beautiful glass bottle, easy to pour it out. If you love something warm, light and delicious scent, you will definitely like it. It has some beautiful flowers print on it and a background of some island, that's pretty nice.

Now come to Madagascan Vanilla Flower Body Lotion, this is a skin softening body lotion, I used it and found moisturizing, it didn't leave my skin sticky or greasy, absorbed quickly in skin and left it with a touch of beautiful fragrance. It came in 250 ml bottle , that's pretty nice and its a plastic one.

Price: As I got it as a gift so I don't know but you may check on their website and Yes I got it from abroad, not from Pakistan.

Pros:
*Light, sensual, and warming scent.
*Not sticky body lotion.
*If you like floral scents so you will prefer it.

Cons:
*If you're not very much into warm scents.
*You do not like vanilla flavour or floral scents.

That's all based on my personal experience or observation, hope you like it and yes do not forget to wear good scents. ;)

Have a good sunday! :)

Review- The Body Shop Coconut Range

Hello beauties, hope you're doing well though its a monday today. ;) I was planning to write a review since I got my hands on "The Body Shop" coconut range.

I always loved "The Body Shop"  a lot and I feel this international brand needs no introduction as the name speaks for itself; becauae of its huge range, worthy results, & of course those fragrances that tempt you to even taste it a bit (just kidding, I can't resist though but frankly I have never ever tasted) ;).

Now come to the review, I got this beautiful "The Body Shop Coconut Set" last days as a prize. This beautiful set came in a lovely mesh bag, included with shower cream (60 ml), body scrub (49 g), body butter (48 g) and loofah.
As you all know its a coconut range so everything smells like a coconut or I better say I was dreaming about beach with loads coconut trees around & enjoying spa and fresh air of sea. :D

I used body scrub and I must say, it left my skin smooth and visibly silky with a hint of coconut smell, consistency of scrub is good as you can see, neither thick nor a fluid one, but I better recommend you girls to use it on wet skin as its all get dried quickly.
After scrubbing, I washed it off using shower cream, it left my skin radiant and glowing.
Its always necessary to moisturize your skin, doesn't matter if its may or december, and its best to use a good moisturizer or anything that suits your skin, I'm using body butter these days, as my skin is very dry in comparison of my face, I can see change, its giving me good result, I can see my skin's need of hydration getting fulfilled but it never meant you stop drinking at least 12 glass of water in a day, that's the worst mistake we do. And come to the mesh bag, you can even keep your on the go makeup products in it, that's what I'm going to do in future with it. ;)
I would definitely recommend "The Body Shop" range to my readers according to my experience. You can shop it online at Just4Girls.pk or you may visit Naheed Super Market, The Forum, The Ocean Mall, or The Dolmen Malls in Karachi.

Pros:
*Leaving skin hydrated, smooth, radiant, and glowing.
*The smell of coconut (if you like).
*Easily available.
*Trusted brand.

Cons:
*If you don't like coconut smell. :P
*If your skin is very very sensitive.
*You may feel itching.

Price: I got it as a gift. :)

Do post your comments and suggestions below, I'll appreciate much. :)

Have a great day!

Review- The Banofee Pavlova

To all my lovely readers, hope you're doing well and haven't hit by monday blues, if not then don't worry I am going to turn your blues into greens or white or may be into something "sweet". ;)

I'm a sweet-tooth lover or I better say dessert-o-holics. :D
I am going to review a dessert named "Pavlova" today, I have had last days. Before sharing my experience, I would love to give you a little information about pavlova.

" Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. It is a meringue cake with a crisp crust and soft, light inside, usually topped with whipped cream and fruit. This dessert is a popular dish in New Zealand & Australia."

I was very lucky to try this heavenly tempting dessert "The Banofee Pavlova" from "The Poached Pear" bakery.

it came in a beautiful packaging (you can see in the collage photo) without even a slightiest mess, thanks to "The Delivery Chacha" rider though I was not expecting because pavlova is such a delicate dessert and even there is a fear that it could get melt or turn into a mess, if not taking care properly while delivery to certain place.
Now come to the taste, its crispy and crunchy meringue outer shell gave it a perfect shape+taste, a light airy base reminded me some of twix chocolate/cake ;), the centre was soft & moist, fluffy from inside, layer of fresh bananas specially for a banana lover like me made my day, beautifully topped with whipped cream which was very light, caramel toffee shards was adding a bit of crunch in its flavour, & of course hershey's chocolate chips was giving it a sweeter taste when it was melting in mouth, and a drizzle of smooth caramel sauce was adding its own flavour in it. It was a perfect dessert, neither too sweet nor less. Enough for 5-7 serving at one time.
I must say now I'm a big pavlova-holic. ;) and all the credit goes to "The Poached Pear". :)

Pros:
*Neither too sweet nor less
*Perfect as a alternative of desi dessert
*Fresh fruits add their own flavours
*You may try with variety of different seasonal fruits
*You can not resist as its heavenly delicious

Cons:
*If you're not very much into sweet.
*May be you can feel heavy by its taste (only if you want to have it all at once) :P

Price: I got it free because my sister won it on "The Poached Pear" page. :P might be it worth around 3000-/ Pkr, I saw on their competition's post but you may ask them via inbox on facebook.

Hope you like the review, give me your feedback through comments, I'd love to hear you. :)

Review on "Ajrak" or "Sindhi Ajrak"

To all my beautiful readers, lovely fans, & friends; I warmly welcome you all on my blog. I hope, you are going to enjoy every post and update as much as I will be enjoying writing for you.

As this is the first post of my blog so after thinking countless time, I decided to start with something unique and cultural and of course my favourite too that made me to think, why not "Ajrak". I got my ajrak last week from interior sindh. I so wanted it since long. :D

Before pouring my thoughts out , I would like to give you a little introduction of Ajrak.

" Ajrak is a name given to particular form of block-printed shawls made in Sindh, Pakistan. Or I better say, have become a fashion symbol representing our very own sindhi culture and traditions. Ajrak is famous for its unique design displaying certain geometric patterns and not only limit to a single colour."

I got my very own "Ajrak"  coloured in deep crimson red displaying black and white block-printing patterns, its printed on pure-cotton fabric, 2.5 meters long also can be used as a shawl. Its printed on both side and its difficult to choose for me which side to wear because both are very same. ;)
I am thinking to pair it with white dress, like short white shirt (a littile bit embroidery or some unique cuts) and straight pants. Although you can pair it with any dress, kurties, or even wearing jeans as its a symbol of fashion itself but if you ask me so I'd prefer white coloured dress, I don't want any other colour dominate while I'm wearing ajrak. :D

Pros:
*Can be use as a shawl or dupatta
*Fashion/Culture symbol
*Men can also use it as a turban, around their shoulders (if you want to impress your girl, because recently I witnessed one of my friend wore it on his engagement ceremony), or simply drape over one shoulder (as its a very famous style wearing ajrak asmong men in interior sindh).

Cons:
Frankly I didn't find any but my mom is saying, its a pure- cotton fabric so may be you feel a bit uncomfortable in this weather as its hot these days in Karachi. ;)

Price:
I am not sure as I got it as a gift but it may cost around 350-500/- Pkr, but only in interior sindh. Here in Karachi or anywhere may be you have to pay double. :D I find it reasonable though! :)

P.S- I am in love with it, and will post my complete look in few days, pairing "Ajrak" with white dress.

I hope, you all like it. Feel free to comment your thoughts on my review, I'll appreciate. :)

Love,
Almas Mustaqeem
